All 4 teams control their own destiny.

He has not had a complete game all year. Deepest he has gone is 7 2/3 innings. So, either he's due or Jerry Manuel better have ever Met reliever ever on speed dial.

Forgive me, but that statement drives me nuts. Destiny is preordained. How can anyone, a team or a person or whatever, control destiny?

Seaver, Koosman, Franco and Leiter are amongst the retired Mets who are at Chez Shea for the final regular season game. I wonder if they have innings in their arms.

I was responding to the notion that the White Sox do.

I know. It's just that whenever people say "such-and-such controls their destiny" it drives me nuts.

Fair, fair. If Sox finally get off their keesters and go back to winning, they can't be repelled. But if they lose today, they're obviously vulnerable to a Sunday
Minny win over Kay Cee. All I was saying . . . no more, no less.

    Arrrghhh...

Anyone who would be willing to trade MLB.com logins for the day so that I can actually watch the Twins game, PM me and secure my eternal devotion.

Don't expect too much help. 5-0 right now and Tampa has pulled a couple starters.

Of course, with the Tigers' bullpen, anything can happen.

And the most gutless team in baseball trails, 1-0.

But Paul Konerko quickly ties it back up.
