All 4 teams control their own destiny.

 

He has not had a complete game all year. Deepest he has gone is 7 2/3 innings. So, either he's due or Jerry Manuel better have ever Met reliever ever on speed dial.

Forgive me, but that statement drives me nuts. Destiny is preordained. How can anyone, a team or a person or whatever, control destiny?

 

Seaver, Koosman, Franco and Leiter are amongst the retired Mets who are at Chez Shea for the final regular season game. I wonder if they have innings in their arms.

 

I was responding to the notion that the White Sox do.

 

I know. It's just that whenever people say "such-and-such controls their destiny" it drives me nuts.
