yeah, yeah. my finger is close to the panic button, but it ain't being pushed yet.

  3. Interesting Player Comparison

    Player A - .328 BA/ 1154 R/ 312 HR/ 1132 RBI/ 1.000 OPS/ 141 OPS+
    Player B - .305 BA/ 1583 R/ 317 HR/ 1595 RBI/ .857 OPS/ 135 OPS+

Player B had the benefit of 3 more full seasons to compile more runs and RBI. Just looking at the comparison makes you think that the players are fairly close in offensive skills. It should be noted that Player A has won 3 Gold Gloves while Player B won just one.

    Who would you take?

Jody Reed. Very nice choice, Chris. Dude turned down $7.8 million/3 years from the Dodgers in '93 and ended up taking $750,000 plus incentives for one year with the Brewers. Moral of the story: Don't let your brother-in-law serve as your agent. Good player, though.

If the Mets blew that game in that manner, and they damned near did, there would be hell to pay this morning.

But they didn't so that is a moot point.
Frankie is 7 for 7 but seems to have a John Franco-like sense of adventure in him.

Of course, if Delgado catches a simple pop-up, game over and there's nothing to discuss.

    That's a close comparison?

    A is the superior player.

    Not that close.

Do they play the same position?

  9. Both are corner infielders.

Not moot -- this team has its head up its ass again and it's easy to see.

It wasn't just the Delgado play. Reyes snap catching the ball with men on base, Reyes lazily throwing it in the dirt (with Delgado barking at him afterward), Clint F-ing Sammons working a 10-pitch at bat.

Bottom line, LJB: 2 wins in Atlanta and Johan on the mound tonight against Chan Ho Park.

  12. That doesn't seem fair.
