Is $123,000 unusually high for a 10th-round pick?

I dont think so... I remember a kid I covered maybe 10 years ago got 125K for the sixth round....

yeah, 125k is normally too high for "most" picks. A college senior with no options? way way too high. Luring a 5 tool high school kid away from his UTexas football scholarship? maybe too cheap.

You might be right, Chet.. .this kid was a 6-10 righthander with a chance to play basketball at a top 10 program...
Kid had solid talent and oatmeal for guts...

    That's very high.
Sure the info from the team is right?
  8. That sounds about right. One of my friends was drafted in the seventh round (209th overall) in 1997 and got about $160,000.
