What's the point in that move? You have a .645 OPS guy hitting for a .642 OPS guy. Either the Astros roster is that bad or Cooper is in over his head as a manager. Either way - it looks like a long season for Houston fans.

Its not like Erstad was the only lefty bat on the bench either.

    I think that's the point.

I was going to say ... It's like replacing Diet RC Cola with Tab.

Rudy Seanez has signed with the Phillies and should be in uniform for tonight's game against Moddy's Nationals.

Seanez is trained in martial arts - so maybe the Phillies are planning a brawl.

Maybe it was because Ausmus is a horrible hitter off Peavy in his career. Ausmus is a career .103 hitter against him with 11 strikeouts. In that situation, you want to try to switch things up and he put in Erstad, who is 0 for 2 in his career, with one strikeout. I would rather have a fresher hitter against Peavy that's marginally better than a hitter who Peavy has his number.

Seanez also has one of the more interesting tattoos I've seen - that's how long he's been around. I haven't been in a clubhouse in years.

I have a body tatoo of myself.

    Only bigger.

If you're not going to use Erstad there, he shouldn't be on the team, which is your right answer; he's no worse than Ausmus, but this might be the fault of the front office.

The Mets are 1-0 this season.

That makes them 6-12 over their last 18 regular season games.

And 5-7 against teams not the Nats.
Lord, that may have been my favorite two series ever as a Nats fan.

I don't know whose ass to kick first: the nerd who actually built a Lego replica of Miller Park or the TV station that decided it was worth airing.
