Carter and Macon's UGA writer Josh Kendall have joined together to create a Web site -- www.ourvarsity.com -- that covers Gwinnett County high school football. Feel free to visit and click on some ads, I'm sure he'd appreciate it.

Is the "Beat Barnhart" contest something he agreed to contribute, or does the AJC just have incredible morans who don't know which staffers shuffled out?

Barnhart shows up on a newspaper BLOG and gives a good bit of insight into what's going on.

A relatively young college football writer at the AJC leaves to run a site on Gwinnett County high school football? That's a prime example of how this field has become less of a career and more of a survival mode.
