It's no different than a man and a woman rolling in the hay, like the cheater from New York state. You want equal treatment then romance is not off the table.

    Oh wait.

We're talking "special treatment" with this particular community. Special, not equal.

Not likely. Even his redrawn district went 61% for Obama in 2008.

If anything, it is more likely to flip without a popular, veteran incumbent on the ticket.

Losing New Bedford (and a piece of Fall River) from his district definitely hurts him. He picks up a lot of Scott Brown country (his hometown of Wrentham, plus the Attleboros) instead.
And, simply, he's in his 70s, and he's old and tired. Having chatted with him a bit backstage three years ago at the Providence Newspaper Guild Follies (after 10 p.m., after a session day and plane trip from D.C.), he seemed pretty gassed. He still turned it on once he took the stage as the mystery guest, but he struck me as having only a finite amount of gas in the tank.

He's surely no kid. He has to pick his spots.

40 years of government service. I hope he can survive on just a pension.

In the voting booth, apparently, since his district kept re-electing him.

You need to read the definition of "hypocrite."
