Band + band = ?

    The Loutallica thread reminded me of a music game I play ever now and then..
    I think of a band and then try to come up with two bands that, when merged, essentially equal the first band. For example, I think if you combine the proggy keyboard sounds and old Styx vocals and the drums and crunchier guitar of Rush you have Dream Theater.
    Any takers?

    I bet if you took Chris Cornell from Soundgarden and added Pearl Jam you would get a cool sound.

    That would be Temple of the Dog if I'm not mistaken..
    But I'm thinking more along the lines of combining the sound/abilities of two different bands to come up with essentially a completely separate, but existing, band.

    Take the gregariousness of the Go-Gos and a touch of their pop sensibility, add the hard guitar edge of Joan Jett, and you get....
