The Mayor is trying to deflect criticism away from her directive on Saturday, but has she appeared in public, or on camera, yet today?

"What she is saying within this statement was that there was an effort to give the peaceful demonstrators room to conduct their peaceful protests on Saturday. Unfortunately, as a result of providing the peaceful demonstrators with the space to share their message, that also meant that those seeking to incite violence also had the space to operate. The police sought to balance the rights of the peaceful demonstrators against the need to step in against those who were seeking to create violence.

The mayor is not saying that she asked police to give space to people who sought to create violence. Any suggestion otherwise would be a misinterpretation of her statement."

Way to throw your police under the bus Mayor.

Police now outnumber protestors at the site of the CVS at North and Pennsylvania -- though rocks and bricks continue to be thrown at the police and firefighters.

But reports say the protestors are now moving "downtown".

Looks like the police are not keeping up. If they don't engage, and disperse these crowds, they are just going to end up following them all night.

They were completely unprepared for this, and it shows.

If you tried to write a parody account for a stereotypical liberal, you couldn't out do what she says, and actually believes.

Holy fuck. The fire department just starts to get some water on the CVS fire, and people are STABBING the fire hose.

This wouldn't happen if Tommy Carcetti was still mayor.

It's where they have a camera shot.

    And it's on fire.

There's an entire city. Maybe some should tell them that. I get Wolf doing his best Rick Sanchez on CNN and Dumbass Al on MSNBC. Thank God for the live WBAL feed online.

Difference between Baltimore and PG County: In PG they just open fire on the firefighters.
