Tom Goldman presents interesing questions and receives some interesting answers. Sections on Barry Bonds, the BALCO investigation, nutritional supplements and the "level playing field" at the elite level of sports.
Conte claims there was fabrication of evidence on the part of the government and then illegal leaks to the Chronicle.

Is there even a chance that any competitive athlete--professional or amateur--is going to take supplements from Victor Conte?

    21,

The word in the streets is that many elite Olympic and professional athletes continue to use his nutritional products. I've even heard that many police officers, military personnel, fire fighters as well "weekend warrior" athletes are religiously using the stuff. Who knows? Maybe this NPR interview will increase his sales even more.

I didn't read the story yet... Is he selling zinc-enriched toilet paper (but not as a front for some drug-dealing operation, of course)?

Perhaps....some people will try anything if it will give them the edge.

But didn't Bonds claim he had no idea what was in the Cream and the Clear, and whatever other supplements he was given? That he was taking illegal substances without his knowledge?

If that was the case, why would any athlete now trust the people at BALCO?

Conte is selling a new supplement to pay for the Bentley.

"Come on Barry, try it! It worked for Babe Ruth."

I thought you were going to say, 'That Conte, what a hotdog.'

Still asking: Who's gonna trust BALCO now, after Barry claimed he didn't know what they were giving him?

Is it really reasonable to believe Bonds when he said that? An athlete wants to know what he's taking. He wants us to believe he never asked what it was, I found that hard to swallow.
