Damn, in the first 22 days of 2008, we've lost:

    Heath Ledger
    Suzanne Pleshette
    John Stewart
    Ernie Holmes
    Brad Renfro
    Bobby Fischer
    Sir Edmund Hillary

    Who am I overlooking?

Georgia Frontiere, although people's ideas of "great losses" may differ.
At least the History Channel's latest apocalypse documentary, on last night, said the world isn't ending until 2012. We're good on that front for another four years.

I'm not sure I've ever heard any media folks describe him as angelic, except for Ms. Waldman of course.

The GOP must be conceding 2008 and looking to '12.

Celebrity deaths don't affect a large percentage of the country, in actuality.

NOTE: The above newsflash would have been more in-depth but all the obituary writers have been laid off.
