This is a funny thread, particularly the turd-off-the-sidewalk analogy.

How can anyone prefer an Icee to a Slurpee? It's absurd.
It's like prefering DC comics to Marvel comics.

I think Buck and Chef need to have an ice drink throwdown.

Ah, the retarded, inbred Southern brother of the Icee and Slurpee.

I'm only 30, but remember watching through billows of smoke, as toothless old men sat and drank coffee mere feet from the baseball cards and chewing gum. That day, I vowed to never set foot into, let alone eat within, one of those diners.

I've kept that promise to myself and am a better man for it.

What? I used to get Slush Puppies all the time after Little League games back in the day in the Northeast. It's a southern thing?

I used to get them as well.

    Was it a 7/11 thing?

Heck, I remember when 7/11s first came out, and those were the hours they were open.

    7/11s had Slurpees

Slush Puppies were at Circle Ks and Kwikee Marts and such.

My brother and I would ride down our street on our bikes, probably a half mile, to get to the convenience store on the corner. We'd take our allowance and buy candy and baseball cards and, of course, Slush Puppies.

And that was in a suburb of Cleveland.

I did the same -- sans bikes -- in Wyandotte, Mich. I had forgotten about Slush Puppies until the pic was posted. They were realler than Real Deal Holyfield. Now, all you hookers and hos know how I feel...regarding Slush Puppies, that is.

I used to get Slush Puppies all the time when I was a kid, but I was in North Carolina and ride my bike to a place called The Checker Mart to get them along with my candy cigarettes.

    So, yeah. :-\ ;)
