I can't believe no one has mentioned Train. They've written some horrible lyrics to songs that are played over and over again.

"Can you imagine no love, pride, deep fried chicken? HUH? Y
Your best friend always sticking up for you... even when I know you're wrong
Can you imagine no first dance, freeze dried romance five-hour phone
    Conversation
The best soy latte (AGAIN ... HUH?) that you ever had... And me."

"Just a fly guy, looking for some two-ply Hefty bag to hold my love."

"Hey soul sister, Ain't that Mister Mister on the radio, stereo."

It's like they just don't care.

"New Kids on the Block had a bunch of hits/Chinese food makes me sick."

I don't think I need to go on. I think that whole song from LFO is a first ballot HOFer, and is absolutely the worst of what humankind has to offer (even by teeny bopper standards).
If that song had been on the gold Voyager record, I think any alien civilization hearing it would immediately try to find us and wipe us off the face of the universe so we would not unleash that horror ever again.

I mean that band obviously didn't give 2 craps about that song and they probably made millions. #^*& You!

    Speaking of America...

    Muskrat, muskrat candlelight
Doin' the town and doin' it right
    In the evenin'
    It's pretty pleasin'

    Muskrat Susie, Muskrat Sam
Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land
    And they shimmy
    And Sammy's so skinny

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
    Singin' and jingin' the jango
    Floatin' like the heavens above
    It looks like muskrat love

Nibbling on bacon, chewin' on cheese
Sammy says to Susie "Honey, would you please be my missus?"
    And she say yes
    With her kisses

And now he's ticklin' her fancy
    Rubbin' her toes
Muzzle to muzzle, now anything goes
As they wriggle, and Sue starts to giggle

And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed
    Singin' and jingin' the jango
    Floatin' like the heavens above
    It looks like muskrat love
