You may remember my previous "is this ad racist"/"is this ad anti-semitic" threads. I think we can agree that this ad is inappropriate (via the Obscure Store):

GEORGETOWN, Texas — A car dealership issued an apology and fired a sales manager over the distribution of an e-mail advertisement that included a derogatory term for Hispanics.

The Mac Haik Ford Lincoln Mercury dealership ad was headlined "Tired of the Wet Backs????" It then listed promotions for vehicles with air-conditioned seats.

The e-mail advertisement was sent last week to 1,200 customers, including members of the Greater Austin Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.

Car salesman being a group known for the political correctness and keen sensitivity to what's right and what's not. ::)

$40,000 for a demo? That IS obscene. Just get an Expedition with the good trim for way cheaper.

Maybe I'm really dense. I don't get the relevance of the Wet Backs reference in this context. Is this supposed to be a pun? Why would angst about illegal immigration compel you to buy a particular vehicle? Please explain.

Well, if you look under that, it implies that you have a wet back if your car has no AC.
So, yes, it was a pun, but failed miserably.

    What's wrong with "wetbacks"? ...

Man, some people are way too serious ... or something.
