Were these breaded cheese sticks, or string cheese like my kids eat?

    Breaded... Definitely breaded.

Finally remembered the photo. It is in the Flickr stream. Search the photos among them are two shots of the bacon explosion, the calzone from last year, and this year's bacon-wrapped cheese sticks.

Awesome bacon porn. I'm going to have to try a couple of those this weekend. I've done homemade cheese sticks with my deep fryer, so I'm going to have to take it a step further.

Just please be sure and fry the bacon enough so it is about half cooked (not crispy. Then fold it over the frozen cheese sticks. The sticks cook in about 8 minutes, but the bacon takes much longer. For example, the explosion was in the oven for like 2-3 hours. So the bacon really needs time. It doesn't taste quite right unless it eventually crisps up.

Duly noted. I don't like crispy bacon, but I wouldn't want to be eating half raw bacon, either.

I was a little worried mine wasn't as done as it could have been but nobody got sick.
