Actually, we stopped in Slots a Fun. Didn't play, but the first thing I noticed was the sound of coins when someone won on a machine.

Good t-shirt deals inside their gift shop too, and they gave me a couple free decks of cards. My brother thought the deck said "Sluts A Fun".

Stayed there once . . . which was the primary reason I never stayed there, twice.

Bingo. The room I had wasn't that bad but the casino was really low rent and there was no sports book. I had a beer next to coked-out Bob one night at the bar.

Loved the deal-to-the-bottom single deck 21. Even with naturals paying only even money, it was counter heaven, unless you abused it with enormous bet spreads.

  5. You stayed at the Excalibur?

Ha hah - you're white trash!

Or he did which is why he had to re-propose.

You aren't supposed to talk about this.

    Is Tropicana under construction yet?

I'll be in Vegas next month for a wedding. Staying at NY-NY.

kingcreole, glad to see you had a great time!

I made my only trip to Vegas in January 2007. A friend of mine got married in February in me in July so three other friends saw that as the perfect excuse for a Vegas bachelor's party. Had a great time, but the most fun I had actually came on the old strip. Gambling and riding a mechanical bull an Binion's, seeing their light show on Fremont Street, seeing all the kitchy signs -- this was where U2 filmed the video for "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For" -- was so worth it. Very underrated part of Vegas, I believe.

Also worth it was watching a full day's worth of NFL playoffs and college basketball at Caesar's sportsbook. Even if the smoke got to my lungs by the end of the last NFL game (Eagles-Saints).

I can't wait to go back with Mrs. Oz some time.

  10. Hey now, I got married at the Excalibur. The chapels are very nice and the ceremony was well done. I thought it was a first-class experience.

We were there 4 weeks ago. No Trop construction yet. However, we had lunch at NY NY and a big chunk of the casino was closed down for remodeling.

My bachelor party was also Vegas, stayed at Binion's back in its glory days when it was still the Horseshoe. I talked the poker room manager into giving me and my guys a private table. The dealer mostly dealt us 7-card stud but also taught us a different game we had never played at home. Texas Hold'em.
