Bachelor party costs

Applicable to ALL bachelor and bachelorette parties. Nuff said.

I think boys and girls handle these soirees differently. I've been in a few situations where other chicks were upfront and quite pushy about the fact they weren't dropping the benjamins on the trip to Cancun, and then some kinda deal was made on how to cut back costs.

I could see where guys wouldn't want to cause a fuss or give off the semblance of being a monetary wuss. So, either suck it up and save or don't go.

To be fair, BTE, I've financed at least one bachelor party on a credit card.

No, it isn't a smart financial decision, and if I had a wife and kids to support, maybe one I wouldn't make.

On the other hand, it was a good friend, and I didn't have the money at the time.

The $1,500 to rest a bus is insane.
But if you figure that's $100 a man right there, I'm guessing it's gonna run you more than $300 because you're sure to drop more than $200 more for dinner and drinks at Borgata, unless you're not drinking much.

Exactly my point. The $300 estimate was on the low side. They're wanting to go to a steakhouse in the Borgata, so that'll be another $100 or so per person. Add chipping in for the bachelor's portion and drinks and suddenly I'm down $500-600.

Willie, the wedding is the first week of June. So they've given less than a month's notice on the costs. My fear is some of the guys on the outer fringes of the group will see the costs and drop out ... which would increase the costs of those of us who are in.

    This is a tough one...

I've been a groomsman about 10 times and I've taken some serious hits over the years. One big way to save money is to go to a strip club instead of hiring a stripper. Then, you pay $20 to get in, pay to get the groom a table dance and if you get drunk before, you can get out of there for about $50-$60.

I went to one in Vegas recently which I didn't plan and much to my amazement and frustration, ended up costing about $1,000 apiece and that's not counting travel or hotel. I didn't even enjoy myself because I kept calculating costs in my head.

Truthfully, if $300 is all it will cost you, that's not bad...

This was my bachelor party and I seriously doubt it cost anyone $300... For the record, it was incredible, but I'm not a big drinker (anymore) or a party guy.

    Baseball game.
    Dinner at a sweet steakhouse.
    A couple strip clubs.
    Home.

Sounds like a great plan. I can't imagine spending $300 on a bachelor party, though I've seen it done.

Inky, I know it wouldn't be much fun not to gamble at the Borgata, but could you cut costs there by sitting it out?

I was at one several years ago... I think I was about 23 or 24 at the time. One of the groom's friends, who wasn't even a groomsmen, and was a total loser dipshit had hired two pornstars to "perform" in front of us for an hour. One of the actresses, Stephanie Swift, was a pretty big name back in the 1990s. It was cool for about 5-10 minutes and then kind of got boring... Most of us were smoking cubans on the balcony when it was done.

After the show, the guy who had hired them went in the bedroom with the lesser-known girl at the suite we had. I looked over and the groom was talking to Swift, and then comes running over to the rest of us.

We asked him what he was talking to her about and he told us that he just asked what his buddy had paid for the show... He was told that it cost $4,000 and that he wanted $200 apiece from the 20 guys there to pay for it. He had never previously mentioned this to anyone, probably because there's no way in hell any of us would have agreed to it.

The groom was pissed and knew that as soon as this dipshit tried to collect, the night would be ruined, so we ditched the guy. When he caught up with us later that night, he actually asked for $300 apiece from us. I don't think he collected $300 total...

I keep coming back to the $1500 for the bus. Does that include drinks/a stocked bar? I just can't see a bus going for $215 an hour.

And think positvely, Ink. Get a good run going in the casino and offset the cash outlay. And if it's not a lucky night, then cut your play early to limit the losses.

Oh, and put $5 for me on 3 on the roulette table. I'll even split the winnings with you ;)

Hate to go off topic, but there's an ad that reads, “Texas Party Strippers. Sexy Texas party strippers for bachelor and bachelorette parties.”

    Just sayin'.
    Carry on.
