Hope there is no D_B here, but I had to post this: AZ Sheriff Joe's latest gimmick: "Mugshot Of The Day." I know we get a kick out of seeing famous people's mugshots (Glen Campbell, Nick Nolte, etc.), but this is not a good idea in my opinion for "civilians'" mugshots, as opposed to celebs.

We'd all be better off ignoring Sheriff Joe's latest pathetic attention-whore gambit.

This guy became a folk hero because he treats accused criminals like shit, right?

That sheriff's office Web site is one of the worst designed sites I've ever seen.

And this is the redesign. It used to be worse.

Nice sleight-of-hand attempt by the sheriff. While people focus on this, he's under investigation for misspending $100 million dollars, and an investigation from another sheriff's office found Arpaio's top deputies should be fired and/or facing criminal charges.

I don't think the Trib is unique in that regard.

St. Pete Times does it too at tampabay.com, supposedly it's the latest three people booked in the area.

An entrepreneur in our area publishes every mugshot from the tri-county area in either a monthly or quarterly tab. I'm told the things fly off the shelves at a buck a pop every time it comes out.

Don't want your mug on the web or in some hack publication? Don't cook or use meth, beat up your significant other, rob a liquor store or whatever.

    It's not rocket science, folks.
