Attentions Sports Media: We don't give a shit about your bracket

Eh, I can handle bracket talk. But don't tell me you were in a "just for fun" pool and didn't win a dime when you won. That makes you a wuss.

My old major metro ran a cashless pool every year and I boycotted every year. Disgraceful for a sports department.

    Discussion of the brackets: Good.

Barking about the upset that fouled up your bracket and chance at instant retirement: Keep it to yourself.

I think they are laying the students, taking the points.

Caught too much of the plate with that one, didn't I?

Ah well, it's still only the spring.

And just remember, if you show me up, I'm earholing Billy Crystal.

Hell, if you don't show me up, I'm earholing Billy Crystal.

Does this also apply to preseason predictions for NFL, NBA, NHL, and MLB? Because there's rarely anything more wrong than "expert" picks in any professional sports league.

Cool. Let them talk among themselves.

Those are bad. In fact, horrible.

But what sets the "bracket talk" in it's own stratosphere is the bragging, or bemoaning the fate of his bracket. Or the imbecilic bets I hear on sports talk radio. Oy vey.

This is true. I do remember years ago some writer at a competing newspaper prancing around at a game crowing about picking the entire Final Four correctly. And it pissed me off because I thought I was awesome for getting three of them right.
