Sharpe kept that up after he went into TV, right? Hey Sterling, you ARE the media now...

At one of the Broncos Super Bowls someone asked Shannon Sharpe if he got all of the personality in the family and he knew exactly what the person meant and laughed.

Shannon was one of the best quotes of all-time.

Don't know if it still works this way, but when Nick was at LSU, you'd get the coordinators for about 30 minutes twice a year: at LSU media day in August, and at bowl media day. The rest of the time, it was by request -- which meant "We'll see what we can do," which meant: "No."

I know when he was in Miami, they couldn't talk at all. I think it's that way at Bama now.

Still the same, and no true freshmen either. And I think there's been a media ban on starting quarterback A.J. McCarron for most of this season (he talked at preseason media day and I think after the Penn State game, but that's it).

EDIT: To clarify, Saban's policy on assistant coaches at Bama is the same as it was at LSU. You get coordinators once before the season and once before the bowl, and that's it.
