Athlete of the Decade: Who ya got?

Here's AP's suggested list ...

 

Woods
Federer
Armstrong
Brady

 

is fastest woman different than fastest man? isn't it usually the best in 100 meters? Pamela Reed runs ultramarathons and also is the fastest in the 100m?

 

Tiger or Lance, probably Tiger. I don't follow soccer sufficiently to make a call involving Zidane but it sounds like he merits consideration.

 

I'd have to pick Woods.

 

Federer.

 

Favre. Or Vick.

 

Save Favre for the next decade.

 

I don't know how Tebow isn't on that list.

Definitely Lance or Tiger. I think either is a fine choice.

 

If it's international it's Schumacher, and I don't know that it's close.

Domestic? I'm inclined to go Bonds, for a variety of reasons. But Tiger will win.

 

That's the maddening thing about the AP award. They include some international stars, but not others. Schumacher should be on there, especially if you're putting Marta and Prinz on it.

Somebody explain to me why they suggest Candace Parker. Spectacular player, but does anybody really think she deserves consideration for athlete of the decade?
