Athlete nicknames sure are lame these days

    Hockey nicknames are like Latin declensions. The -y, -ie, -s, -er suffixes and first-syllable truncations are all alive and well in the NHL. Whichever one sounds the best is what sticks.

    When I was Tweeting the Flames-Sharks game last night, I referred to Boucher as the Waterboy.

    Some guy from California Tweets me back and says 'uh, it's Boosh, not Waterboy.'

    I doubled over, laughing. 'Boosh.' How original.

    Donnie Baseball for Mattingly had a nice ring to it, but I don't know if his friends called him that? Rock Raines was brutally ironic. Mark "The Bird' Fidyrich

    Also, does anyone remember who was dubbed Penitentiary Face?
