I know the Giants are hurting for talent, but they're playing a dead guy at third base?

Bit of a typo in Phil Rogers' weekly rankings...

24. Giants (30): Pablo Escobar is showing signs of getting turned around. But not first baseman Travis Ishikawa.

That Capone kid's doing well in Double-A, though.

 

Heard he throws bullets.

 

And steals with the best of 'em. Nobody can seem to catch him. But I bet if the throw's on target, trying to evade the tag will catch up to him.

 

The only way he will get caught is in a rundown.

 

I'm missing something here. I presume the third baseman's name really isn't Pablo Escobar. What is it?

 

Pablo Sandoval

A good copy editor would catch that but the Trib fired all of them.

 

Ehh. Escobar still has more range and a better back than Edgardo Alfonzo.

 

Interesting Pablo Sandoval note: He's left-handed, but can throw well enough with his right hand to catch and play third.
