    No. If Newtown didn't spur new gun laws, NOTHING will. Period.

    A court victory last week could give lawmakers more leeway to make an impact on gun violence.

    Commonwealth Court overturned Act 192, a state law that made it easy for gun owners and the National Rifle Association to sue cities and towns over local gun ordinances.

    Democratic mayoral nominee Jim Kenney said the Mantua and Kensington shootings made him think of when his now-grown children were younger.

    "I would be more than beside myself if [a shooting] happened with my kids there," he said.

    "But you can't shoot anyone unless you have a gun. You can get a gun very easily in this state [through] straw purchasers . . . [and] hopefully the Supreme Court will uphold our right to have rational gun legislation."
