At a small paper, should a car show be sports or news?

It should be in sports because that is the boy part of the paper and boys like cars.

Features in the girl part of the paper.

News is the boring, gender-neutral part of the paper that's supposed to be good for you, sort of like vegetables.

It's not really all that complicated.

    RANT WARNING:

One reason that newspapers are failing is because reporters argue about who should have to cover something that is definitely of interest in the community instead of agreeing on the best approach to get that crap in the paper and on the web.

It's just a continuation of "Not it!"

It's like the cops in The Wire trying to pawn their murders off on some other department rather than solve them.

Explain to me what exactly a car show has to do with sports??? I don't get it.
Have someone submit a photo, if it's worthy of printing, run a stand-alone somewhere in the paper and call it good. Maybe you get lucky, and a staffer likes this crap and can take a camera out to get a more reliable shot.

More readers probably think a car show is more important than Little League or swimming.
