    Company: The Scranton Times-Tribune
    Position: Assistant Sports Editor
    Location: Scranton, Pennsylvania
    Job Status: Full-time
    Salary: Negotiable
    Ad Expires: April 16, 2008
    Job ID: 866793

The Times-Tribune (53,000 daily, 72,000 Sunday), a family-owned newspaper in Scranton, PA, has an opening for an assistant sports editor who can help manage the department as well as design pages, edit copy and plan coverage. This is a challenging role for an energetic, decisive editor who knows sports, can meet deadlines, has a creative approach to the Web, and is able to take a project from inception to production. Interested applicants should submit a letter outlining their skills and interests, a resume and examples of their work to Judy Connelly, sports editor, at JConnelly@timesshamrock.com.

Anyone know anything on this one?

Was my first thought, but selfish to take it for myself, I felt.

(Did wander to their Web site and seems to be a bit going on there sports-wise.)

If the receptionist is anything like Pam, I'll bite. :)

Seriously, it's a good read from what I've seen. Good luck to those who apply.

On a serious note, doesn't this paper have a sister paper? I wonder what the rules are for working with them, using their material, staff, etc. are?

I don't care if that's the receptionist, the editor, whoever. She's definitely someone I'd wanna work with. And if she had any sisters, I'd probably be willing to work with them, too.
