    THE JOB: Star Media, which includes The Indianapolis Star and IndyStar.com, seeks an assistant sports editor to lead the Colts/NFL beat for digital and print.

    QUALIFICATIONS: We’re looking for an editor who can drive creative storytelling and reader engagement that will build audiences for all of our platforms. Great editing, coaching and team-building skills are a must. The successful candidate will have innovative coverage ideas, excellent news judgment and planning skills, and an understanding of how to use Social Media to grow audience. In-depth enterprise, breaking news and feature content aimed at our target audiences are staples. At least five years of metro experience is preferred.

    I would bet NFL experience would be more valuable than management experience.
