The Albuquerque Journal has an opening for an assistant sports editor. It's primarily evening work and includes editing, planning, and assistance in managing staff. It's not a writing job, though there will be at least minimal writing/reporting opportunities TBD if we do this correctly. We have a staff of 10.4 (the .4 is a 16-hour/weekly part-timer). We do our own copy editing, agate and web/social media. Designers do design. It's a lively sports scene in ABQ, and this is a nice opportunity for someone who is industrious and an original thinker.

Benefits are typical (health, 401K options). Please send letters of inquiry and attach resumes to rharrison@abqjournal.com. No phone calls please. Let's do this electronically. ==== Randy Harrison, Albuquerque Journal sports editor
