    Salary: $20,000 to $25,000

    Website: http://OneidaDispatch.com

Small Central New York 3-day daily with active 7-day website has an immediate opening for a hard-working, versatile sportswriter who can produce accurate coverage with flair. The candidate will use social media, video and other digital tools to tell compelling stories, and, of course, write well.

He or she will be expected to learn editing skills to back up the sports editor.

This is a great opportunity for a trained, talented beginner or a solid weekly reporter to move up to a true digital-first news organization.

This full-time job features flexible hours and a wide range of assignments and opportunity for training and advancement. The Oneida Daily Dispatch is a 21st Century Media news organization and part of the Digital First Media family, recognized leaders in the industry's transition to digital from print.

This entry-level job requires living in this area and having your own transportation.

A smartphone, laptop and cellular data service will be provided.

Please send resume and clips to:

This appears to be Jessi Pierce's job, which she held for about five months after spending four months as the Syracuse Post Standard's lacrosse writer.
