    Description:

This position offers you the opportunity to play a key role in the development and distribution of college and professional sports content in one of the "sports capitals" of the United States and get in on the ground floor of an exciting transformational change in journalism. As Managing Producer, Sports, you will work with a talented group of motivated professionals and oversee a team of reporters covering the gamut of sporting events and teams in New Orleans. With two professional franchises that draw a variety of major national sporting events, and a prolific college sports presence, you'll enjoy being part of this dynamic and rich sports landscape. We're looking for someone who can provide leadership in an innovative and changing environment. If you like the idea of leading through change and you're passionate about making your mark in a cutting-edge, non-traditional digital news environment, we look forward to hearing from you.

To be a good fit for this opportunity, you will need to have:

A bachelor's degree in journalism, communications or a related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of three years of professional experience in developing and directing web-related projects/programs, including sports coverage.
At least three to five years of management and/or team leadership experience.
Mastery of social media and digital interaction, including experience working with video and social networking functionality/technology.
    Successful experience leading multi-disciplinary teams.
A solid track record of successfully developing projects through launch.
An understanding of news writing, journalistic ethics and story structure.
Experience creating interactive metrics reports and analyzing their implications.
