    The Department of Athletic Department Support of Auburn University is seeking candidates for the position of Assistant AD I/II, Public Relations. The individual in this position will lead the development of the department's strategic communications plan which integrates every aspect of the department, promotes its messages and includes message development to ensure the department's message is successfully being communicated to key audiences and stakeholders. This will include: Strategic Communications Planning; Crisis Communications/Negative Press; Message Development Efforts; New Media Efforts; Grassroots Public Relations Efforts; and Campus Public Relations Efforts.

    Job Requirements
    Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Sports Management, or related field and 5 years experience in the coordination and/or direction of public relations services. Employer will consider advanced degrees in lieu of experience. A Master's degree from an accredited institution and additional years of experience are desired. Minorities and women are encouraged to apply.

    As a recent alum of the university, I challenge anyone to come up with a more beautiful campus in the South than Auburn. The town is nice and yes it's small, but it's not "Bumfuck, Mississippi". I have my fair share of gripes with the athletic department as a whole, but that comes with working at the college paper and getting the old bob and weave. They're a good group of people though and if this is the kind of gig you're looking for then it's a good place to be.
