Another opening in York. From JournalismJobs.com.

The York Daily Record/Sunday News is seeking an assistant sports editor to join our award-winning sports department.

Strong digital skills and a digital-first mindset are essential. Candidates should understand web publishing and blogs, social media and mobile platforms. They must know how to serve our audiences across all digital and print platforms. They will brainstorm and help to implement new ways for us to engage with our community and grow the GameTimePA.com brand (high school sports).

Applicants will help us find fresh ways to present and cover local news, always keeping the needs and habits of the consumers in mind.

Previous management and copy-editing experience is a plus as is a record of online innovation, involvement with long-range brainstorming and planning and the ability to work and coordinate across multiple departments in several newsrooms.

This editor will work primarily night shifts (approximately 3 p.m. to midnight) and have both weekend days off every other month.

Contact Sports Editor Lyzz Jones at ejones@ydr.com, connect with her on LinkedIn or mail resume and examples of digital successes to her at York Daily Record/Sunday News, 1891 Loucks Road, York, Pa., 17408. EOE.

I wonder if that means both offdays off once every other month, or if every other month you get Sat and Sun off. If so, that's actually a great deal, as far as scheduling goes.

You forgot to ask him for a beer, Mile. (Yo, jp, one Budweiser!)

Congrats to Teddy on the job! :)
