As usual, the Vatican is on guard against grave threats to morality

I figured priests would love Halloween. Candy. Costumes. Little boys.

Do they not realize how silly/stupid such a statement is?

My goodness, the Church is really becoming a caricature of itself.

I worked with a Seventh Day Adventist who wouldn't acknowledge Halloween in any sense.

I wasn't allowed to celebrate Halloween growing up for that reason.

My mom worked for the local diocese for last 10 years or so. They always went all-out on Halloween in her department, so much so that it seemed to be the highlight of their year. Most of the old birds came to work dressed up as ghosts, witches, etc. and had a little party and costume contest. Some of the less ancient priests even got into it.

I always knew they were just a bunch of heretics.

  8. Because you were Catholic or Seventh Day?

Does being uber-religious mean sucking every possibility of fun out of life, or does it just seem that way?

But no edicts against dressing like a slut?

I had the flyer on my refrigerator all through my college years "Shit Happens in different religions."

My absolute favorite was, of course, "Catholicism: If shit happens, you probably deserved it."
