This is all rumors and message board postings at this point, although I was told by a buddy at ESPN.

If you speak French, there's a link to a Montreal radio station on that thread.

This would be a shame. His fight with Mickey Ward was one of the best ever. The last two rounds were like any I have seen.

    translation from a portuguese article:

According to information given the police the woman victim of the Brazilian Amanda Rodrigues, the husband's body was found around 6 am, dropped in the room of the apartment of panties.

    and

Born in Italy, but naturalized Canadian, Arturo "Thunder" Gatti was champion of the world super penalty in 1995

Had this taken place in Indochina and not Brazil, and had there been rice strewn about the crime scene, I think we'd be able to identify Suspect No. 1.

    Awful. One year-old son.

    Beloved in Quebec.

My favorite Gatti story is that, during one of his fights (I forget which), he broke his hand. He finished the fight and won it, then waited two or three days to get it checked out because he was celebrating too much.

I'm going to find the Gatti-Ward fights on the Internets tonight and watch all three.
