    I didn't care for Passan's tone.
Just can't handle that sort of whiny shit.
Lamenting his childhood when a human being has died.
I realize Passan's a little out of his domain here, even if he is from Ohio.

Walter Burns, is now the best time to call Art Modell an asshole?

3OctaveFart, I understand where you're coming from, but I think it was an earnest tone. He wasn't mean as much as disillusioned. Given his age at the time of the move, his column makes sense.

Agreed with Walter that the stuff about the name and colors was very weak.
Posnanski should know better than this.
    This was common knowledge.
Also, Schottenheimer was not pushed out.
He was asked to dismiss an assistant coach and refused, so they mutually parted ways.

And the assistant coach was ... ?

And Verse: I've called Art Modell worse than that in my sleep.

I believe it was Marty's little brother, Kurt.
Then a special teams coach who is now kicking around with the Virginia Destroyers of the UFL.

    Precisely my point. :)

I actually thought it might have been Brian, or whatever his worthless playcalling son's name is.

Kurt Schottenheimer followed his brother to Kansas City and Washington.
Then he was a defensive coordinator for a few of the brutal dogshit editions of the 2000s Lions teams.
Later cleaned out when Singletary got canned in San Francisco.
Clearly a coach with a meager record of success.
Another member of the lucky sperm club.
    Just like Brian.

    Versatile-
Here's another one to throw on the pile.
    Scott Raab on Art's death.
