A day after police confiscated 49(!) pairs of shoes from his apartment, they're about to confiscate him for felony second-degree assault ...

(Apologize if this is a d_b, but I don't think there's been a running college football thread or a separate thread on the LSU bar fight).

Well, his feet get sore after all that punting practice.

Notice they threw that hard labor possibility into the penalties for that crime. Jefferson could wind up, "wipin it off here, boss," before too long.

LSU might end up giving big playing time to Zach Mettenberger, who was kicked off of Georgia's football team for some bar indiscretions of his own.

Yeah, Mr Jordan better tread pretty carefully when he goes out from now on.

At least he's grown as a team leader.

This is going to be a very complex story before it's all over. The marine may be in trouble for his own actions that night. Already an ex-girlfriend has filed a restraining order against him for actions that happened in the bar that night: http://theadvocate.com/sports/683845-32/victim-in-bar-fight-accused.html

Isn't this a violation of the code of conduct?

Bar staff told AP that the marine is the one who started the fight, not the football players...

Having said all that, if these guys kicked this guy after his butt was already whipped, they deserve the charges.

Doubt Jefferson to had the presence of mind to get rid of the kicks that he wore while doing his Ron Behagen imitation.

No. They searched his house already and, I presume, found the shoes. This happened prior to his arrest and was probably the evidence they needed to make the arrest.

I think they said they took something like 49 pairs of shoes. Who is he, Imelda Marcos?

So I guess he won't be playing against Oregon.

He will if ESPN has a say in decision.
