  1. So A-Rod will be out about 50 games?

What else in baseball is about 50 games?

Yup. Instant mental image of all the fun the Post had with Clemens. What was that hed -- "He took it in the butt" or something like that?

  4. Charles Barkley would like to get some action on this proposition.

OOH OOH OOH PICK ME PICK ME!!

The answer is the amount of time Roger Clemens waits before deciding which team he's going to play for.

Has Bobby Crosby ever played third?

If Duchscherer's elbow is a bad injury, possibly a young Yankees pitcher for Crosby. Not that Crosby has been healthy or good, but he might be a better option than Berroa or Ransom.

If he comes back May 10, he misses 41 regular-season games. May 11 (a Monday) is an off day for the Yankees.

Sadly, that's probably not enough to completely destroy the Yankees' season.

  8. Crosby has never played 3rd in the bigs but I'm guessing the transition would work fine. Plenty of former SS move to 3rd just like A-Rod did. My guess is that the trade (if it ever happens) would be mostly a salary dump with maybe 2 A-level prospects going to Oakland.

The funny thing is that the perfect fill-in (besides Nomar) would be Julio Lugo.
