Michael Savage thinks so. The medical community might disagree.

THAT may be the most ignorant thing I've ever read. Holy shit.

As someone who knows several people with autistic children, I will say I hope Savage never gets caught in a dark alley with any of them.

My sentiments exactly, IJAG. Savage is a disgrace.

I like to share some of the really fucked-up stuff I read on this site with my wife, but I'm not even telling Mrs. OOP this one. One of her best friends since she was in elementary school is the father of an autistic child.... and a far better man than Savage could ever hope to be.

    Faking it? Hell no.

Is it being overdiagnosed? A lot of people think so.

They told my sister that her daughter "showed signs of autism" when she was about two. Kid was a little more shy than most and wasn't speaking as early as most kids. Everything else, completely normal.

Kid is five now and sharp as a tack. Has a slight speech problem, but nothing beyond that.

There are degrees of autism, Mizzou. Not every kid with autism sits in the corner unable to communicate.

I'm the father of an autistic child.

One must consider the possibility that -- like Coulter, Limbaugh, Malkin and the rest of the leading lights on the right -- this rant is among the 90 percent of the shit Savage spews that he can't possibly believe as he laughs all the way to the bank.

I have never heard of Michael Savage except for this message board. But this must be at least the third outlandish thing he's said that has started a thread. Sounds like he's got people hook, line and sinker.

Not people. Person. Smallpotatoes, I believe, started each Savage thread.

I got to just the second page of smallpotatoes' posts.

    Two threads started about Savage.
    A post about O'Reilly
    A post about Rush

Does that really make Savage less of a douchebag?
