AP's style will be President Barack Obama (not President Obama)?

Actually his correct title should be President of the World Barack Obama. That's more accurate. I mean, we do want every other country to love us, right?

I am thankful at least that Germany's 539 electoral votes didn't count.

Then again, is every newspaper beholden to AP style?

I did some things differently at my shop. Some of them were specific to Godless County. Others were because I thought AP was dead wrong.

AP's clarification makes perfect sense, but it won't matter anyway, because AP violates their own style all the time.

This does make sense to me, but will president Bush be called President George Bush from here on out?
That just seems awkward to me. Old habits die hard I suppose.

Simple--both have very similar last names as well as strong Middle Eastern ties, whether by birth or long-time associations. Both are now powerful leaders---one as a terrorist and the other who promises to coddle terrorists. Putting President Barack in front of Obama will cut down on the confusion.

Obama and bin Laden have very similar last names? I can see your confusion.

I'd also like to hear more about President-Elect Obama's Middle Eastern ties.

Playing off High Highness, Our Lord and Savior and Messiah's own quote "I'm just a mutt," I'll just call him Muttenhead

I think it's funny that the style of dropping the first name started with Franklin Roosevelt, who was the second President Roosevelt.

Just seems to me the AP is dishing out a double dose of "HE'S MOOOSLIM."

  12. Yes, both have an "a" and "b" in them.

    I'm always mixing them up.
