My only hope with the new Futurama movies/episodes coming out, is that they bring Fry's dog back.
Quick trivia bit: the dog's name was?

There is no frequent portrayal fo cruelty to animals without consequence.
Animals are almost universally portrayed as sympathetic elements in American entertainment.
What movies or TV shows promote the indiscriminate killing or injuring of animals?

That Futurama episode is probably my favorite. I don't cry at much, and television and movies have never triggered my tears. But it's tough for me to look away from that episode, in particular, the last minute. When Seymour closes his eyes, that's fucking beautiful. The episode, "Jurassic Bark," won an Emmy in 2003, by the way.

Big dog guy, and I winced in American Gangster and No Country For Old Men.

In both flicks, very necessary in the situation (though NCFOM is fresher in my mind; what was the situation in AG?). ... Still, very haunting.

I don't remember the scene in American Gangster, either. I was battling heavy eyes during the entire flick, so I'm sure I missed a lot.

In American Gangster, the dog house was over the cache of cash.
Brolin shot the dog to get to the money.

Man, I've got to watch that movie again. I think I missed that entire scene.

Seymour Asses, to be exact. Named after the name on the prank order Fry got when he found the dog.

Was that explained in that episode? The Asses part, that is.

Actually, I'm assuming the Asses part because of the crank call. I also wonder if maybe it should be Seemore Asses. He always smelled like wet dog, even when dry.
