Let me predict this will fail pretty epically.

The Newton, aka the world's most expensive paperweight, reborn.
    At least that's my guess.
On the flipside, other tech-y people are calling it the greatest gadget. Ever.

$29.99 unlimited data plan through AT&T, without having to sign a contract.

    Pricing starts at $499.

    It's essentially a bigger touch/iPhone. I would've called it the iPod sumo.

Pretty damn cool, but nothing revolutionary.

The pricing is much cheaper than most envisioned, though: $499 for 16GB, 32GB is $599, 64GB is $799. Models with 3G a bit more expensive.

Ah yes, but will it protect against heavy menstrual flow?

So folks, if I already have a laptop, why would I want a huge iPod Touch?

Really, I'm not being snaky. Sell me on this.

I had one of these. Still in my closet I think. How far we've come.

I can do more on my iPhone than I could on the Shack.

    Shamelessly stolen from someone anon:

"It's 0.5-inches thin, weighs just 1.5 pounds. Thinner and lighter than any netbook. But enough about Steve Jobs."

Basically, this is the Apple 'netbook. It's the entry-level laptop computer designed to fit between iPhones and Macbooks.

At $499, you're paying more than you would for most netbooks. But you've got more usage for it.
