So I finally got around to watching this tonight. What an excellent flick. Visually gripping and so enthralling, that I virtually forgot I was reading subtitles. Very few movies can do that ("Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" jumps to mind as one that accomplished that feat).

The title and the opening quote about a civilzation can't be "destroyed from without until it destroys itself from within" were a bit misleading, though. It really wasn't about the fall of the Mayan civilzation at all. It really was about one man who was captured and his quest to save his wife and children.

Really fast-paced and the 2+ hours flew by. Definitely worth the time and money I spent on it.
