AP switch -- state names will now be spelled out

    Anyone catch the game tonight between the Boston, Massachusetts Bruins and Detroit, Michigan Red Wings? It was a good one.

    There's also a South Boston, Virginia. It's where NASCAR's Burton brothers are from.

    To listen to them speak, it's almost impossible to believe they're brothers. I think Jeff said that Ward's drawl is due to his bedroom having been on the south side of the house.

    That's not all dialect. I'm pretty sure Ward also has a slight speech impediment, which makes him sound even more country.

    We agreed as a newsroom to ignore this about 3 minutes after it came down. We just edit back to the old way.

    Sorry, but my shop is too poor to afford AP upgrades. They'll have to pry my 2005 AP Stylebook from my cold, dead hands.
