AP style question: CAtholics

    No, and "mackerel" ain't spelled that way, either. :D :D :D

    On top of that, I never snapped mackerel as a kid. Grew up near St. Augustine, Fla., and Fridays meant fried shrimp straight from the market. Giving up meat didn't seem like much of a sacrifice.

    AP style is wrong on this one. A Catholic or Orthodox minister of faith is not a Reverend.
    They are priests or monseigneurs. The colloquialism or title designation is "Father."

    This is the rule that should be kept:
    Catholic or Orthodox priests should be referred to as Father on first reference. Second references don't need to be honorific: Father Mike Conway, Conway.
