    It does suck, and I try like hell not to get "sucked" into taking the first thing that hits the twitter feed as gold.

    I use Twitter a lot, mainly to stumble across someone's insight or a link to an interesting story that doesn't get coverage. As someone who isn't in the business, I still stick with the premise of if a breaking story hit the wire, I wait for a lot of reliable sources to confirm it, not go with the first tweet out of the gate. Places like CNN and others have shown in the past with their screwups, it isn't worth being the first and the quickest, as a means to appease the masses. The masses look like fools by running with info that isn't correct and treating it like manna.

    Get your facts and your shit together, make sure it's legit, and then post it on social media.
