AP Regional Assistant Sports Editor/North

    I wonder if an AP drone screwed up the e-mail and meant to tell him to apply for the sports job.

    Guessing there won't be any movement on these now until the end of the year despite the fact the jobs have been open for more than two months.

    Somehow I'm skeptical of the notion they got <b>400</b> applications! ... But I could be wrong. According to my AP sports sources, last time they had an ASE opening in NY, there was a lack of mutual interest (i.e. AP wasn't interested in most of those who applied, and those who were 'encouraged to apply' weren't interested in the job). The job was open nearly a year before it was filled
    Same appears to be the case this year. ... Also, i'm told internally they've told people that these positions won't be filled until after the Olympics. So, if you really want this job, sit tight.
