I filed more than a handful of stories from this bureau while covering events in the state capitol.
The people here were always great to me.

    95002360 -- Newsperson

The Associated Press is seeking a Newsperson for its Jackson, Mississippi, bureau.

The newsperson must be able to develop a beat and build sources in a busy news environment, and be able to work across departments and formats. He/she will work with news managers to set the beat’s agenda and develop aggressive spot and hard-edged enterprise reporting for the AP’s global newspaper, online and broadcast audience. This is a two-year temporary reporting position.

RESPONSIBILITY (along with numerous other things):

Work with the news editor and the South regional desk to ensure AP is aggressively pursuing breaking news and high-impact enterprise.

Check the AP jobs site for further information.

Doesn't appear to be a sports opening, as David Brandt has that filled.

Brandt is good. Enjoyed his work at the C-L.
