AP gets Britney's obit ready

My station usually has canned obit packages ready for really big names who are ailing, like Reagan or Pope John Paul II.

We had the Reagan one for so long that when he died it had voice-over from an anchor who had been fired at least two years earlier. We had to have someone else retrack it before it aired.

And for an AP entertainment editor, Britney kicking the bucket would be the biggest story in years.

It's probably a good idea to have an obit ready for her.

I don't think it's a good idea to go public and admit it. It just seems kind of poor taste, no?

it is extremely poor taste. just like most of the coverage of this woman has been. and damned if i don't read every freakin' story. i hate myself for that, a little bit.

Which begs the question: Does anyone know if their shop has these done -- news or sports?

Johnny Podres is from up here, and the local paper did an amazing job with it. I don't know that they had anything written, but they had quick access to it.

Does anyone know if they also have one ready to roll for Amy Winehouse?
Or will she wind up being the Keith Richards of her generation? ::)

Was it SO obvious that Marilyn would be a goner?

To many, Spears is already gone. And she hasn't done anything in years.

I think Lohan would be bigger.
