AP eliminates DET buro chief

Just found out AP is eliminating the buro chief position in Detroit and having that office run by Columbus. The tech side has done it that way for years.

It just seems so strange there's no big boss in a news-heavy state like Michigan.

I'm not sure if this was a bigger round of eliminations by AP -- does anyone know?

The title of this thread makes it sound like he got whacked.

And I've been wondering why they're keeping burros in a major metropolitan city like Detroit anyway ...

I'm not sure Detroit merits that description at this point.

Oatman, Ariz., has wild mules that wander through town, but i haven't seen a burro in a metro area.
