A couple of hours ago, Andrea Mitchell said in an interview with someone (I was listening only half-heartedly) that Hillary's paid staffers are on their own after Tuesday night.

Why does Glenn Close and the bathtub scene at the end in Fatal Attraction keep popping into my mind?

The timing of this, if it comes to pass, is curious, given the final two primaries tomorrow.

Does anyone know if there are enough pledged delegates at stake to put Obama over the top tomorrow (assuming he does as well as I've seen polls predict in both South Dakota and Montana)? The last numbers I saw (after the Florida and Michigan comprimises and the Puerto Rico primary) had him just under 50 short, no?

If so, it makes sense for Clinton to make the announcement in her concession speech. "We fought the good fight, yadda, yadda, yadda."

If not, I'm surprised she's giving up the ghost and not fighting for any Supers she can get. Though now that I think about it, she may know there will be enough supers announcing after tomorrow for Obama to put him over the top.

    Either way, interesting.

He needs 42.5 and apparently plans on claiming victory tomorrow night. Her people are claiming she's going to get surprise win in SD. I don't buy it, though.

The remaining total of pledged delegates is 31.

If the voting is split, as usual, then we can assume 15 for Hillary and 16 for Obama.

Now add in the 17-Senators and you get about 12-shy of what is needed. So, I would expect about 13-14 delegates to also declare for Obama tomorrow before polling closes.

Meaning he won't campaign for Obama? Interesting.

As much as he helped his wife Obama would be better off if Clinton didn't campaign for him.

What I'm reading says Obama needs 46 delegates and that there are 202 superdelegates yet to commit. Could he win with just 46 of those and none from the final two states? What am I missing?
