Will this have any impact on Fanhouse situation?

It will have no impact. The FanHouse deal is done.

The AOL/Huffington Post deal is indeed interesting. With Ariana at the top of all AOL editorial the company can finally shape a coherent strategy. This also allows Armstrong to distance himself from Patch as Patch prepares to make major changes by year's end if the current business model continues to fail. Whoever posted that AOL changes strategy every six months certainly said a mouthful.

My advice to Patch editors, update your resume.

Smart people in this business never stop updating it, but the "sky is falling!" stuff about Patch is pretty silly.

I wonder if Keith Olbermann has phoned up George Soros and said, "It's time for me to fill the void..."

    KO-Post, anyone?

Given the moron in charge of Patch, it'd be silly to NOT gaze skyward in cringing anticipation.

I'm trying to figure out some way to stretch the "sky is falling" metaphor to address the fact that Patch has never been profitable to begin with, but I can't come up with one.
